Paris - A police officer was stabbed and injured by a miscreant in cannes (Cannes City), in the southern part of France. However, the attacker has been arrested. French Interior Minister Gerald Daerminin said in this regard on Monday. The attack in Cannes comes at a time when France is due to go to the polls soon. There are concerns among voters about violent crimes and terrorism, and this is going to be an important issue in the 2022 French Presidential Election. Home Minister Gerald Darminin tweeted from his Twitter account, 'I am going to the spot immediately this morning and I offer my support to the National Police and the city of Cannes.' A police source told the media on condition of anonymity that the policeman was sitting in his car outside the police station at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, an attacker came and opened the door of the car and started stabbing him with a knife. Sources said the policeman's life was saved because he was wearing a bullet proof jacket. The condition of the policeman is said to be stable at present.
