Three women facing a case of human trafficking in UP's Shamli district have allegedly consumed poison outside the office of a police officer to death. Officials reported this on Saturday. According to reports, the police said that the three women attempted suicide by consuming poison outside the office of the Sadar Zonal Officer and the police said that a suicide note was also found from the women. This has revealed that the women were facing a social boycott. After being in custody in a human trafficking case, she was also released by her husband and in-laws.

On January 3, the police had arrested: where it is found that the women were detained in the midst of a raid in Shamli on January 3. Zonal officer Bijendra Bhadana said the three women were taken to the hospital. Kotwali police station in-charge Yashpal Singh said the three women were also treated where their condition had improved. Police are investigating the case.
