Bhopal: The income tax department has taken major action against Ratul Puri, the nephew of Madhya Pradesh CM and veteran Congress leader Kamal Nath. The Income Tax Department's Benami Prohibition Unit has confiscated assets worth Rs 254 crore from Ratul Puri and his firms. Ratul Puri is accused of bringing money in the form of FDI with the help of Rajiv Saxena, accused in the Agusta Westland case. Earlier, Ratul had escaped from the ED office during the entire interrogation. In fact, ED had summoned Ratul Puri to the office for questioning. It is alleged that Raatul Puri was not cooperating in the investigation and hence demanded his arrest. Hearing this, Raatul Puri sought permission to go to the bathroom during interrogation. They were allowed to go to the bathroom without a guard. Taking advantage of this, he managed to escape from the ED office. Not long after Ratul Puri returned to the interrogation room, the ED staff started looking for him, but when it was found that he had absconded, the ED office was agitated. However, the Income Tax Department has now seized his assets while proceeding in a money laundering case against him.
