NEW DELHI: In the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2019 list, India has jumped five places to 52nd position, improving its ranking to 57th position. According to a report released on Wednesday, India retains its status as the top exporter of IT services. According to the Global Innovation Index (GII), 2019, three cities in the country, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi are among the top 100 science and technology hubs in the world. The GII has ranked 129 economies based on 80 indicators in its 12th edition. These indicators range from the rate of submission of applications for intellectual property to the creation of mobile apps, expenditure on education and scientific and technical publications. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal released the global innovation index (GII) ranking here on Wednesday.
