Athens: During his visit to Greece, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the natural compatibility between India and Greece, characterizing their ties as both ancient and robust. This diplomatic tour, the first in four decades, underscores the enduring warmth of their bilateral relations. The two leaders have mutually decided to upgrade India-Greece relations to a strategic level, encompassing a comprehensive collaboration spanning defense, security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, technology, and skill development. The highlight of Prime Minister Modi's trip was the bestowment of the Grand Cross of the Order of Honour by Greek President Katerina N Sakellaropoulou. Modi stated, "Although an Indian Prime Minister visited Greece after 40 years, our relationship's depth and warmth remain undiminished. In light of this, the Greek Prime Minister and I have chosen to elevate India-Greece relations to a strategic level." He added, "We have committed to bolster our strategic partnership by expanding collaboration in defense, security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, cutting-edge technology, and skill development." During his visit, Prime Minister Modi paid homage at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and received a ceremonial guard of honor. Bilateral discussions between the leaders underscored their shared dedication to broadening cooperation across diverse sectors, including maritime transport, defense, trade, investments, and people-to-people exchanges.
