New Delhi: 1,79,723 new cases of corona infection have been registered in India and 146 people have died in the last 24 hours. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, 46,569 people have also recovered from infection during this period. New cases of infection have increased by 12.6 percent over Sunday. With the advent of new cases, the total number of infected cases in the country has gone up to 3,57,07,727, with about 3.45 million recovering. The recovery rate in the country is currently 96.62%. The number of active cases has increased to 7,23,619 after new cases, up 2.03% of the total cases of infection. According to the Health Ministry, the coronavirus has so far claimed 4,83,936 lives in the country, 1.36 per cent of the total infection cases reported so far. 64.72 per cent of new cases have been registered from just 5 states of the country. The highest number of cases are 44,388 in Maharashtra, while 24,287 in West Bengal, 22,751 in Delhi, 12,895 in Tamil Nadu and 12,000 in Karnataka. Maharashtra alone has a 24.7% stake in new cases. The positivity rate in new cases has been recorded at 13.29%. The weekly positive rate is currently 7.92%. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 13.52 lakh samples have been tested across the country on Sunday. More than 69.16 crore samples have been tested so far since the outbreak of the epidemic in the country.
