New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi's picture will be removed from the corona vaccination certificate in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, Manipur. This will be done because assembly elections are going to be held in these five states. With the announcement of election dates, a model code of conduct has also come into force in these states.

Media reports quoted sources as saying that "the Union Health Ministry will install necessary filters on the Covin platform to remove PM Modi's picture from the vaccine certificate. The Election Commission had announced on Saturday that assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa will be held in seven phases between February 10 and March 7 and vote counting will be held on March 10.

With the announcement of the election schedule, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force for governments, candidates and political parties. An official source said, "Due to the implementation of model code of conduct, the Health Ministry will install necessary filters on the Covin platform to remove pm Modi's picture from the Covid-19 vaccination certificates issued to the people in these five electoral states.''
