India Omicron tally rises to 1700; 33,750 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hrs,

New Delhi: India has reported 33,750 new COVID-19 cases and 123 deaths In the previous 24 hours,, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the ministry, 1,700 people have been infected with Omicron, which has spread to 23 states. With 510 cases, Maharashtra is the worst-affected state, followed by Delhi with 351. According to the government, the country had 10,849 recoveries in the previous 24 hours. The number of active cases in the country is presently 1,45,582. This represents fewer than 1% of total cases, which now stands at 0.42 percent. There have been 3,42,95,407 recoveries in all. The recovery rate in India is currently at 98.20%.

Meanwhile, according to provisional data, India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 145.68 Crore (1,45,68,89,306) in the previous 24 hours, with 23,30,706 vaccine doses administered. Despite increased testing capacity across the country, the country's weekly positivity rate is currently 1.68 percent, with a daily positivity rate of 3.84 percent. So far, 68.09 crore COVID-19 tests have been performed in India.
