New Delhi: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to become self-reliant in the matter of urea. In this meeting held at Nirman Bhawan, he advised to produce DAP using 'Green Hydrogen'. Due to this meeting, the Union Minister appealed to the officers of the Department of Fertilizers to promote agriculture in India and take necessary steps for 'Green Future'. The fertilizer threat had deepened across the country in the last day. In view of this threat, the Central Government had chalked out a strategy to make India self-reliant in the fertilizer sector as well. For this, the Central Government has decided to take forward fertilizer based domestic industries in India by assisting them. A high-level meeting was held for this purpose, which was attended by several senior officers belonging to the Ministry. The meeting emphasized on making India a self-reliant sector in the fertilizer sector. It was also decided in the meeting to continue the assistance being provided to domestic industries engaged in fertilizer production to increase the production of phosphatic and potash (P&K) in the country. In the meeting, the officers also proposed the provisions of Nutrition Based Subsidy (Fertilizer Subsidy) with a view to increase the production of fertilizers in India.
