Indian athlete Gomti Marimuthu has challenged the CAS against the sentence of 4 years ban after failing the dope test. Gomti won the gold medal in the 800 meters competition of the Doha Asian Championship 2019. A four-year ban on her was issued after the Sports Tribunal withdrew the medals after his 'B' sample was also found to have banned 'anabolic steroid nandrolone'.
She told PTI, 'As per the rules, the request has been filed in the Sports Tribunal. We have appealed against the 4-year ban and the fine of £ 1,000 British imposed on me. According to the rules, an appeal can be filed within 30 days of the receipt of the sentence.
The Tamil Nadu athlete has been found infected with the anabolic steroid nandrolone at the 2019 Asian Track Championships in Qatar in April. His A sample was found positive in May last year. According to which this ban on her is going to continue till May 2023.
