Government of India continues with ban of Chinese apps including Tiktok

The ban on other Chinese apps, including Tiktok , is going to continue. The government has already issued notices to all the apps in this regard. A source associated with the case said that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (IT) has issued a notice after reviewing the responses to the banned app.

Tiktok has confirmed that the government has received a notice when contacted. "We are evaluating the notice and will respond appropriately," said a Tiktok spokesman. "Tiktok was one of the first companies to follow the instructions issued by the Government of India on June 29, 2020. We constantly strive to comply with local laws and regulations and do our best to address any concerns of the government. Ensuring the privacy and security of all our users is our top priority," he said.

The government has first banned 59 apps in China in June and 118 other apps in September. These include popular apps such as Tiktok and PUB-G.
