Kerala to get late Monsoon this year, know when it will rain in other states

New Delhi: Monsoon is expected to arrive in India two days late this time. According to met department, kerala is likely to get monsoon by June 3. Earlier, the IMD had projected Monsoon to reach Kerala on May 31. The department said south-westerly winds may gradually pick up from June 1, which may accelerate rainfall activity in Kerala. The monsoon is likely to arrive in Kerala around June 3.

It will then gradually proceed towards North India. According to an estimate, it is likely to reach Bihar on June 12 or 13. Bihar receives monsoon rainfall generally from June to September. It is expected to rain more than normal this year. According to the Met department, this time the monsoon will hit Uttar Pradesh around June 20, which means after the third week of June, all the districts of UP will receive heavy rain.

Last month, private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather said that monsoon is likely to reach Delhi by the end of June. Delhi is likely to receive good rainfall in the month of September. However, there is a possibility of '10-15 per cent reduction in rainfall' during the rest of the season. Last year, the monsoon went on 30th September and the rainfall was 20 percent less.
