New Delhi: The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) may consider extending the tournament finals from November 8 to November 10. All the stakeholders behind it - especially broadcasters Star India - have the opportunity to make the most of the Diwali week. A final decision on this will be taken in the meeting of the Governing Council to be held in the next three days. This year, Diwali is coming on 14 November. An increase of two days means that Team India will take a direct flight from the UAE for the tour of Australia and will not return home. The IPL schedule was announced between 19 September and 8 November. These dates are being considered for the last one week. However, when the IPL Governing Council meets this weekend through teleconferencing, it may be considered to extend the final two days. This version of IPL will increase from 51 days to 53 days. Earlier media reports said last week that the broadcasters were not very happy with this schedule and he has registered his protest against this. Star India wants to make the most of the week of Diwali. After this, the IPL Governing Council decided to have it replaced from 26 to 19 September. This reduced League 44 to 51 days. If the date is extended this time also, it will be the first time that the league finals will not take place on Sunday because 10 November is a Tuesday.
