India's COVID vaccination coverage surpasses 200.33 cr

NEW DELHI: The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine coverage in India exceeded 200.33 crores, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In the last 24 hours, 27,78,013 dosages were given out in total.

The country's active caseload is currently 1,43,654 with a recovery rate of 98.47%. A total of 16,113 recoveries occurred over the previous 24 hours, bringing the overall recoveries graph to 4,31,13,623. 15,528 new cases were reported in India the previous day, a small decrease over the previous 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate for the country is 4.57 percent, while the daily positivity rate is 3.32 percent.

4,68,350 tests were completed in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests completed to date to 87.01 cr. On January 16, 2021, the nationwide COVID-19 immunisation campaign began. On June 21st, 2021, the new phase of COVID-19 vaccination universalism began.

The vaccination drive has been carried out through the availability of more vaccines, and advanced visibility of vaccine availability to States and Union Territories for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.
