The first oxygen express of Indian Railways arrived at Nagpur station from Visakhapatnam with liquid medical oxygen tankers at 8.10 pm on Friday. Of these, 3 tankers were launched at Nagpur station and the rest are to be unloaded at Nashik Road station in Maharashtra. Oxygen Express is expected to arrive at Nashik Road station on Sunday morning. Indian Railways is operating the Oxygen Express as part of its fight against Corona. It has been learned that the first Oxygen Express with Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) tankers started its maiden voyage from Visakhapatnam to Nagpur on Thursday night. LMO-filled tankers are being sent to Visakhapatnam through Indian Railways' Ro-Ro service. A special green corridor is being constructed to deliver the Special Oxygen Express trains run by the railways at the earliest. Through them, trains are being run continuously, without stopping anywhere on the way. Recently a green corridor is going to be constructed to cover 270 km distance from Lucknow to Varanasi in 4 hours 20 minutes at a speed of 62.35 kmph. According to the information found, the transportation of oxygen through the train is faster than road transport over long distances. Trains can run for 24 hours in 1 day, but the drivers of the truck need rest. It may be heartening that a ramp is needed to make the loading/unloading of tankers easier.
