Ministry of Home affairs every year selects the best performing Police Stations across the country with an aim to incentivize more effective functioning of police stations and bring healthy competition among them. Through data analysis, direct observation and public feedback, out of 16671 Police stations in India these top 10 were finalised. The Top 10 Police Stations in the country for 2020 are Manipur state's NongpokSekmai in Thoubal district tops the list followed by Tamil Nadu's AWPS- Suramangalam station in Salem city limit, Arunachal Pradesh's Kharsang station in Changlang district is at three, fourth place by Jhilmili (Bhaiya Thana) Station from Chhattisgarh, fifth place by Sanguem station in Goa, sixth place by Kalighat station in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Pakyong station in Sikkim at Number 7, Kanth station in Uttar Pradesh at No: 8, No:9 by Khanvel station in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and at 10 is Jammikunta Town PS station from Telangana. Home Minister Amit Shah notified most of the short listed stations are from small towns and rural areas. This indicates that while availability of resources is important, more important is the dedication and sincerity of our police personnel to prevent and control crime and serve the nation, said Shah.
