IndiGo Announces Pay Cut For For Entire 2020-21

New Delhi: The country's largest domestic IndiGo airline has on Saturday clarified that 25 percent reduction in the salary of its senior employees will be effective for the entire financial year 2020-21. The company has said that the decision to restore the basic salary of these employees will be taken at the end of the financial year.

IndiGo on Friday announced a cut of five to 25 percent in the salary of its employees. Apart from this, the company had also talked about non-pay leave program for senior employees in May, June and July. The airline has made this announcement via an internal email sent to employees. However, in this case the company has been making changes in attitude several times. All commercial flights are closed due to lockdown due to Corona virus. Due to this, a big crisis has arisen in front of domestic airlines.

IndiGo airline has said that the salary cut will be applicable from May to this entire financial year. The company has already paid the full salary for the month of April to the employees. The airline first announced a cut in the salaries of employees on 19 March. At that time, it was decided that due to Corona, a situation of great crisis is going to happen. However, later the company had withdrawn the declaration of salary cut 'as per the wishes of the government'.
