New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi and former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday paid tribute to the country's first and only woman PM Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary. PM Modi tweeted saying, "'Tributes to our former PM Indira Gandhi Ji on her birth anniversary." Apart from this, Sonia Gandhi, former PM Manmohan Singh and former President Pranab Mukherjee paid tribute to Indira Gandhi at the Samadhi Shakti Sthal. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his tweet in Hindi said that his 'beloved grandmother' was rich in a strong, capable leadership and amazing management ability. Rahul Gandhi said, 'I pay my respects to the iron lady who played an important role in establishing India as a strong country and on the birth anniversary of my beloved grandmother, late Indira Gandhi.' The Congress party also paid tribute to its late leader. The party wrote in its tweet that, 'We pay tribute to India's first woman PM late Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary. His will and determination raised our country to heights. Her contribution to India's national security, economy and foreign policy will always be there. Let me tell you that Indira Gandhi was born on this day in 1917.
