Indira Gandhi’s104th birth anniversary: Sonia Gandhi pays tributes

New Delhi: Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress in New Delhi, paid tribute to Indira Gandhi, the country's former Prime Minister and her mother-in-law, at Shakti Sthal in Delhi on her 104th birthday on Friday, November 19.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid respect to Indira Gandhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi Ji, I pay my homage."

"Former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Smt. Indira Gandhi represented strength, courage, tenacity, commitment, and sacrifice. Her vision was futuristic, her words were inspirational, her actions were transformative, and her life was amazing. On the occasion of her birth anniversary, a billion salutes to her "The Indian National Congress sent out a tweet.

Indira Gandhi, dubbed the "Iron Lady of India," was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, on November 19, 1917. Indira Gandhi was India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Kamala Nehru. She was the country's first and only women prime minister from January 1966 to March 1977, and again from January 1980 to October 1984.
