IPL 2023: Why did Kohli and Gambhir fight on the middle of the field?

New Delhi: Team India's former captain Virat Kohli and former batsman Gautam Gambhir have had to pay a heavy price for fighting on the middle ground. BCCI has imposed a fine of 100 percent of the match fee on both. Let us tell you that after the victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), there was a heated debate between Kohli and Gambhir. It had come to such an extent that the other players had to intervene.

After this brawl, the BCCI has convicted both of them under Level 2 of the IPL Code of Conduct and as a punishment Kohli and Gambhir's full match fees have been deducted. Let me tell you, this is not the first time that Virat and Gambhir have clashed with each other on the field. Earlier, while captaining Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gambhir had a heated exchange with Kohli. Now, in the recent clash, apart from Kohli-Gambhir, LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has also been fined 50 percent of the match fee by the BCCI.

Actually, in the 43rd match of IPL 2023, RCB won by 18 runs. But, after this match a heated argument started between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir. After the match was over, all the players were shaking hands with each other. During this, as soon as Kohli shook hands with LSG player Kyle Meyers and talked to him, LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir was seen pulling Meyers back. In such a situation, it is being speculated that Virat Kohli became very angry on this behavior of Gautam Gambhir and started saying something to Captain Faf Duplesey.

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir also flared up and went to confront Virat Kohli in anger. Due to this, the temperature of the ground of Ikana became so hot that everyone was surprised to see this. The anger of both had increased so much that there was no assurance of when this verbal war would turn into a scuffle. In such a situation, Faf Duplesey, KL Rahul and Amit Mishra intervened and cooled the matter. The video of this heated debate between Gautam and Virat Kohli is going viral on social media.
