Football Premier League: The recent success of Arsenal in the Premier League could provide the blueprint for Chelsea's bid to rebuild after a disappointing campaign, Frank Lampard, teh interim manager  said ahead of the sides' meeting on Tuesday, May  2

Despite their new U.S. owners' significant investment, Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Brentford last week dropped them to 12th place in the rankings and put them on the verge of possibly having their worst season since finishing 14th under Glenn Hoddle in 1993-94.

Tuesday's matchup pits Chelsea against an Arsenal team that, between 2016 and 2022, finished outside the top four six times in a row but is again involved in a heated title chase due to tremendous progress made under manager Mikel Arteta.

"Getting to where you want to go involves a lengthy procedure. Before the trip to the Emirates Stadium, Lampard told reporters, "I remember facing Mikel in that early period.

"They used to play four or five at the back, but they now have a distinct identity. A lot of work has been put on the team, Mikel, alignment, and effective recruitment. Do we have the option to carry that out? Yes. Will it require patience and wise choices? Definitely, sure. Yet you can travel there.

"The procedure can take two or three years, and the manager, players, and owners were all questioned. They are a fantastic illustration of that being done well.

Despite acknowledging that Chelsea's players are "low on confidence" as a result of their recent struggles, Lampard urged his team to work hard to make up for their lack of self-assurance.

"You can only work to get a level of performance to bring confidence back," stated Lampard. "Nobody enjoys losing games, so I've been here when confidence has been low. As a player, there were times when our collective standards were lowered, and we had to raise them. "When I consider history, I see that we were able to regain it through perseverance. We can only plan for the future and put in a lot of effort to move the squad in the right direction.

Kalidou Koulibaly, a defender, may be "out for a while," according to Lampard, after suffering a hamstring injury in the Champions League match against Real Madrid.
