Iran attacks exiled Kurds in Iraq with deadly missile and drone strikes

Tehran: In response to Monday's cross-border missile and drone attacks by Iran against Kurdish opposition groups based in northern Iraq, one person was killed and eight others were injured, according to local authorities.

A military source in Iran confirmed to Iran's Fars news agency that "Iran has carried out attacks with drones and missiles targeting the headquarters of terrorist parties in the northern region of Iraq."

In Kurdish Iraq, Koysanjaq's mayor, Tariq Al-Haidari, told AFP that "five Iranian missiles targeted a building used by the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran."

According to Iraqi Kurdistan's health ministry, one person has died and eight others have been injured. Authorities in the autonomous Kurdistan region of Iraq claimed that additional strikes also occurred there, but they did not immediately give a death toll.

According to Koysanjaq's mayor, Tariq Al-Haidari, "five Iranian missiles targeted a building used by the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran," he told AFP. Koysanjaq is in Kurdish Iraq.

The health ministry for Iraqi Kurdistan reports that one person has passed away and eight others have been hurt.

Authorities in Iraq's self-governing Kurdistan claimed that additional strikes had also taken place there, though they did not immediately provide a death toll.
