Chandra Grahan enjoys massive importance in Indian Culture. Chandra Grahan which is also called Lunar Eclipse occurs on a full moon day when the earth comes in between the Sun and the Moon and when all the three objects are aligned. A total lunar eclipse will occur when the whole moon comes under the umbral shadow of the Earth.

 Lunar Eclipse is not only scientifically important but also holds a great significance traditionally. The phenomenon takes place when the Earth comes between the sun and the moon and obstruct the sunlight reflected on the lunar surface.

The world will witness this year’s last Chandra Grahan on November 8. The lunar eclipse will be visible in the region covering South America, North America, Australia, Asia, the North Atlantic Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean. The lunar eclipse will take place for about 45 minutes 52 seconds from 5:32 pm to 6:18 pm and the sutak will be from 09:21 am to 06:18 pm. • Pregnant women are often advised to stay at home and not to come out as lunar  as it affect the health of the unborn child.
• Not only for pregnant women but also for all people it is necessary to remain indoors and avoid doing new things or starting any new work.
• Activities like drinking water, brushing teeth, combing hair, oil massage, visiting the loo or using the washroom and involving in sexual activities are prohibited.
•  All types of food items either solid or liquid are prohibited during not only with       Grahan period but also for sutak period.
• Tulsi leaves must be put in the food items till the time there is an eclipse on the moon.
• Bathing and washing hair right after the eclipse wash off the impact of the negative impact of lunar eclipses.
