Today, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved another milestone by launching INSAT-3DS, an advanced meteorological satellite. This mission, named GSLV-F14/INSAT-3DS, is a significant step forward in India's weather monitoring capabilities and is fully funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences. What is INSAT-3DS? INSAT-3DS is a state-of-the-art satellite designed specifically for advanced meteorological observations, enhancing our ability to forecast weather accurately. It is equipped with advanced instruments, including a 6-channel Imager and a 19-channel Sounder, ensuring precise collection of meteorological data. The GSLV-F14/INSAT-3DS mission took place today at 5:35 pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre - SHAR, located in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This marks the 16th mission of GSLV, aiming to place the INSAT-3DS satellite into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).
