Jagan government cannot claim credit for the latest ranking: TDP

Recently, Andhra has secured top spot in Ease of doing business ranking 2019. With the state retaining the top position in the ranking, the Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alleged that the honor for it goes to former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Former Vice-Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Planning Board Cherukuri Kutumba Rao explained the number the achievement of the state as a progress report on the performance of the previous Chandrababu Naidu regime during 2019.

Kutumba Rao asserted that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government cannot claim credit for the latest ranking since the central government considered performance indicators during the previous regime. Addressing a press conference, Kutumba Rao said the reforms brought in by the Naidu regime stood Andhra Pradesh at first place in the country in EoDB during 2019 while Uttar Pradesh came second and Telangana third. "This was possible because of the reforms initiated during the Naidu rule in the enforcement of contracts and agreements, starting businesses, labor reforms, etc," he added.

Kutumba Rao said Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy should have continued the reforms initiated by the previous TDP government but the YSRCP government treated dismissively the previous regime's initiatives. He alleged that the presumption of the YSRCP government has greatly influenced the Ease of Doing Business climate in the state. Industry Minister Goutham Reddy was speaking about EoDB achievements of the TDP with contempt in the beginning but these days, he was depending on it to attract Industry.
