Jahangirpuri violence: Delhi Police files charge sheet against 37 accused

New Delhi: Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet in Rohini Court in the Jahangirpuri violence case. Delhi Police has filed a 2063-page charge sheet against 37 accused of violence. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has so far arrested 37 accused. Still, 8 accused are said to be absconding.

In the Jahangirpuri violence case, Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet under IPC sections 186, 353, 332, 323, 436, 109, 147, 148, 149, 307, 427, 120 B, 34, 25-27 Arms Act. To arrest these accused, the police had taken the help of more than 2300 mobile videos and CCTVs and also investigated the mobile dump data, CDR, phone location. The police had also taken the help of the Face Recognition System to nab the accused, which has helped in the identification of the accused. 

The chargesheet states that the case was transferred to the Crime Branch on April 18. It has also been told that so far 8 accused have not been arrested. Many weapons including 9 firearms, 5 cartridges, and 9 swords have been found from the accused. Out of these 37, 20 accused have been identified using technology including CCTV, viral videos. A total of 21 mobile phones of these accused have been seized. There are 132 witnesses against these accused, out of which 85 are policemen and 47 are common people. A total of 13 teams were formed to nab the accused.
