Srinagar: Two terrorists of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Kulgam district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. A police official said that security forces cordoned off an Okay village in Kulgam district and launched a search operation there, which later turned into an encounter. He said two terrorists have been killed in the encounter. Inspector-General of Police (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar said that the two slain terrorists were locals and were associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. He explained that he was involved in several terrorist activities. Earlier on Monday, two terrorists, including Salim Pare, a notorious and wanted terrorist of banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, were killed in two separate encounters with security forces in Srinagar. Police have informed that the second terrorist killed is from Pakistan. A police spokesman said Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a search operation in Harwan on the outskirts of the city. He said that during the operation, a hidden terrorist fired indiscriminately at the security forces, after which the security forces retaliated and piled them up.
