The tragedy unfolded at Tangli Morh in the Choki Chora area of Jammu district. The bus veered off the road and plunged approximately 150 feet into a gorge.
Pilgrimage Journey Turns Fatal The bus was transporting pilgrims from Kurukshetra, Haryana, to the Shiv Khori area in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Initial reports mistakenly indicated the accident occurred in Rajouri district.
Rescue Efforts A swift rescue operation was launched involving police and local residents. The injured were promptly transported to Akhnoor Hospital and the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Jammu for treatment.
