BJP MP Jayanta Kumar Roy claims 'got attacked by alleged TMC goons'

Kolkata: BJP Lok Sabha MP Dr Jayant Kumar Roy has been attacked in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. He has been admitted to the hospital. He was returning after meeting BJP workers at the time of the incident. According to media reports, Dr Jayant was attacked in Rajganj block of Jalpaiguri district at 5 pm. Two persons were reportedly injured in the attack. Both have been admitted to the hospital. BJP MP Roy has accused TMC for the attack.

Talking to the media, Jayant Roy said, "I was attacked by TMC goons at around 5 pm. They attacked me with bamboo and sticks. I have a head injury and a hand injury. I have been attacked along with other activists. There is no law and order left in Bengal."  Dr A N Sarkar of North Bengal Medical College told the media that the BJP MP suffered head and stomach injuries. However, his condition is still stable.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress (TMC) Jalpaiguri district president Krishna Kumar Kalyani has rejected all allegations of TMC attack on BJP MPs and termed it as a result of BJP's factionalism.
