Jharkhand HC will hear bail plea of Lalu Yadav on February 5

Ranchi: RJD President Lalu Prasad, convicted in the fodder scam case facing serious health problems, has not received immediate relief from the court. After the hearing in the Jharkhand High Court on Friday in the illegal withdrawal case from Dumka treasury, the trial will now be held on February 5. Lalu Prasad's party hoped that Lalu would be out of jail if he got bail.

The hearing date was set for Friday in the court of Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh. In which a supplementary affidavit was filed on behalf of Lalu Prasad. He was given a week's time to hand over the copy to the CBI and reply to the CBI. Lalu Prasad is convicted in four cases, in which he has already been awarded bail in three cases. He will be out of jail as soon as he gets bail in the fourth case of illegal withdrawal from Dumka treasury. During the first hearing, on behalf of Lalu Prasad, it was said that he has already suffered half the punishment in case of illegal withdrawal from Dumka treasury.

Referring to Lower Court records, Lalu Prasad's lawyer had said that he had already served a 42-month sentence. He was imprisoned for seven years in this case. The court was also requested for bail citing the illnesses of Lalu Prasad. Whereas the CBI pleaded that they had not yet completed half of the punishment in the illegal extortion case from Dumka treasury. Therefore, they should not get vine.
