New Delhi:- NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson's stepparents and grandchildren were found dead in Oklahoma following an alleged murder-suicide, police said Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Jack Janway, 69. His wife Terry Janway age 68. Muskogee Police said in a statement that she and her grandson Dalton Janway, 11. Department spokeswoman Lynn Hamlin said police did not believe the child belonged to the Johnsons Police said they believed Johnson's mother-in-law, Terry Janway, killed her husband and her grandson before committing suicide. Around 9 a.m., authorities were called to report a commotion at his home. Police said at 5 p.m. Monday, officers found one dead before hearing gunshots and eventually found two others. The three are related to Johnson's wife, Chandra, according to Tulsa NBC affiliate KJRH. Muskogee Public Schools said in a statement that Dalton Janway was a fifth-year student at the Sadler Academy of the Arts. Mr. Johnson's team withdrew from Sunday's scheduled race after his family requested privacy. “Legacy Motor Club has decided to withdraw the #84 Carvana Chevrolet from this weekend's NASCAR Cup Series event in Chicago,” the team tweeted on Tuesday. NASCAR said in a statement Tuesday that are saddened by the tragic loss of Chandra Johnson's family. The entire NASCAR family extends our deepest support and condolences to Chandra, Jimmy, and the entire Johnson & Janway family during this difficult time. Jimmie Johnson of the San Diego area is a seven-time champion and the only driver in the sport to win five straight from 2006-2010.
