J-K LG Announces Compensation for Victims of Reasi Terror Attack, Details Inside

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha has sanctioned an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of those killed in the terror attack on a bus in Reasi district, as per an official spokesman on Monday. Additionally, Rs 50,000 each has been approved for those injured, the spokesman confirmed.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday, saw terrorists opening fire at a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district, resulting in nine fatalities and leaving 41 others injured. The bus, which was carrying 53 people from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, swerved off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near Teryath village in Poni area following the gunfire barrage.

A control room has been set up by the district administration to extend all necessary support to those affected by the incident, the spokesman added. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the perpetrators behind the terror attack.

The 53-seater bus, en route from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, swerved off the road after coming under heavy gunfire. It plummeted into a deep gorge near Teryath village in the Poni area.

According to a spokesman, the district administration has established a control room to offer essential assistance to those impacted.

Efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators of the terror attack, the spokesman confirmed.
