Former JNU professor refuses corona vaccine for a surprising reason

New Delhi: The second phase of corona vaccination begins in the country from May 1. But Chamanlal, a former dean at Punjab University and a former professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), has clearly refused to take the vaccine. He has written to Punjab CM Amarinder Singh explaining not only the reason but also his demand.

He has written in the letter that at the age of about 74, I need vaccination for corona, as it is medically appropriate. However, I have some personal and social emergency as a citizen of Punjab (India) and as a world citizen. Because of this I haven't taken the vaccine yet and I'm still reluctant. That's why I want to tell you here. I hope immunization will focus on saving thousands of lives, he added. But my first major reason for not taking it is the certificate issued with vaccination that forcefully and compulsorily imposes PM Modi's picture.

He said that there is no picture of any political leader on vaccination certificates in any other country of the world. It is a national mission that should have the signature and seal of the health or medical officer of the concerned area. In India we helpless citizens are being given certificates with a picture of the ruling leader. I condemn it. If seen, the policies and criminal negligence of the ruling party have led to the worst explosion of corona deaths. This is evident, especially in the second wave of Covid-19.
