Justice Hima Kohli: The first woman Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court has emerged

Hyderabad: Justice Hima Kohli has been sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. Justice Kohli was administered the oath of office by Telangana Governor Dr Tamilasai Soundarajan. With the appointment of Justice Kohli, the Telangana High Court has got the first woman Chief Justice. Currently, she is the only woman Chief Justice of one of the 25 High Courts in the country.

Apart from CM KCR, other dignitaries including MLAs, MPs and DGP Mahendra Reddy were also present at the swearing-in ceremony. Justice Hima Kohli served as a judge of the Delhi High Court and became the first woman Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. In his farewell address, the Chief Justice said after the resignation of the Delhi High Court judge, before being sworn in, "Clients will be recognized as a good lawyer by dedication, discipline and honest advice". The Delhi High Court was made a permanent judge in 2007

In his farewell, Kohli added, "Surrender, discipline, constant updating of the laws, honest and sincere advice to clients, and trust in the court are the hallmarks of a good lawyer." I can tell you that Justice Hima Kohli was appointed as a judge in 2006 and became a permanent judge of the Delhi High Court in 2007.
