Kapil Sibal slams PM Modi for not giving notice for lockdown

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and lawyer by profession Kapil Sibal have attacked PM Narendra Modi on Sunday for the migration of thousands of migrant labourers during the nationwide lockdown in view of Coronavirus infection. Congress leader Kapil Sibal tweeted with his official Twitter handle that no proper preparations were made before the 21-day nationwide lockdown was announced and it was implemented in haste.

Sibal tweeted, writing, 'Why Modiji? For Janata curfew, four days' notice and 21 days lockdown only four hours notice. No preparation before lockdown. Migrants are walking 200 km to reach their homes without food. Millions of people stuck on highways are unclear and incompetent.

For the last three days, thousands of labourers trapped in different states of the country have been travelling around the border of Delhi-Uttar Pradesh in the hope of boarding buses to reach their ancestral villages and towns. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has said that those who are coming from outside, they will be kept in a 14-day quarantine as a precaution.
