Kapil Sibal tweeted asking PM Modi to declare National Health Emergency

Union Minister Kapil Sibal has tweeted demanding the Central Government to declare a national health emergency in the country. The rising cases of coronavirus has made such situation arise. He has asked PM Narendra Modi to look in the matter seriously and take mandatory decision.

The Union Minister also urged the Election Commission to declare a moratorium on election rallies. In his tweet he wrote "COVID-19: Infections faster than recoveries. Modiji: Declare a National Health Emergency. Election Commission: Declare a moratorium on election rallies. Courts: Protect people's lives."

 

 

Whereas, a statement was also made by Congress Working Committee lashing out at the Union government for being under prepared for such a serious condition. It was alleged in the statement that we are do unprepared and pushing the country to the gravest disaster. The CWC further said that the Union government is passing the buck to the state governments and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi incorporating the suggestions.

In the meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made announcement of cancellation of all his public rallies in West Bengal. As the surge of prevailing COVID-19 cases has become a matter of concern. He also appealed to the other politicians to seriously consider doing the same.
