Karnataka clears 81 industrial projects worth Rs2,689 cr

BENGALURU:  The Karnataka government has approved 81 industrial projects worth Rs 2,689.51 crore, which will create jobs for around 6,825 people in the state, according to an official statement released on Friday.

Under the leadership of Murugesh R. Nirani, the state's Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries, the approval was issued at the 132nd State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) meeting. Seven key large and medium-sized industrial projects worth more than Rs 50 crore were considered and approved by the committee.

These initiatives, valued at Rs 1,229.43, are estimated to provide jobs for 1,734 people in the state. 71 additional projects worth more than Rs 15 crore but less than Rs 50 crore were also approved at the meeting. These projects, valued at Rs 1,308.06 crore, will employ 5,091 people in the state.

Three further projects totaling Rs 151.42 crore have also been authorised.

The SLSWCC, led by Nirani, approved 60 industrial projects worth Rs Rs 2,465.94 crore in April, having employment potential of 8,575 people.
