Kalash, Tomar and pillar found during renovation of mosque near Mangaluru

Bangalore: A Hindu temple-like architectural design has been found under an old mosque in Malali, on the outskirts of Karnataka's Mangaluru city. This was revealed during renovation work at the Juma Masjid on Thursday (April 22, 2022). Let me tell you that the repair work was being done on behalf of the mosque. After the design of the temple came out from inside the mosque, now people say that there is every possibility that there used to be a Hindu or Jain temple at this site, as it is seen with Kalash, Tomar and pillar.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders have requested the district administration to stop the work till the documents are verified. Meanwhile, the Dakshina Kannada Commissionerate has ordered the status quo of the structure to be maintained till further orders. The administration is checking the land records and has requested the people to maintain peace. Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Rajendra KV said, "I have been informed about the matter by the area authorities and the police department. The district administration is looking at entries about old land records and ownership details. We will take reports from both the endowment department and the Wakf Board.''

The official further said, "We will check the validity of the claims and take the right decision very soon. Till then, I have instructed to maintain the status quo and urged people not to come to conclusions. I am appealing to the people to maintain law and order and peace.''
