Karnataka: RSS worker arrested for calling Muslim women baby-making factories

Bengaluru: A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker has been arrested by the police from Raichur city of Karnataka. It is alleged that he made fun of Muslim women through a cartoon on his WhatsApp status. Raju Thumbak, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker from Lingasugur town in Raichur, had posted his latest status on WhatsApp on Thursday evening.

 

According to the report, this post of Raju Thumbak angered the people of the Muslim community and came out on the road with a huge crowd. After the picture of Thumbuk's WhatsApp status went viral, members of the Muslim community surrounded the Lingsur police station and demanded action. A complaint was also filed at the police station and Raju's immediate arrest was also demanded. Based on the complaint, the police nabbed Thumbak late on Thursday night. He was produced before a magistrate and later sent to jail in judicial custody.

An FIR has been lodged by the local police under IPC sections 295 (A) against any other class or community (with intent to outrage religious feelings) and 505(1)(c) (intent to incite people to commit any offence, or act likely to incite people of any class or community) to commit an offence.
