Kaushambi: On Sunday morning, February 25, 2024, a massive explosion occurred in a firecracker factory located in Bharwari village of Kaushambi district. Six people died and many were injured in this accident. The condition of some of the injured is critical. As soon as the information was received, a team of fire brigade and a police team reached the spot. Firefighters are busy extinguishing the fire and rescuing people trapped in the factory. According to the information, the explosion occurred at around 10 am. The sound of the explosion was heard several kilometers away. After the explosion the factory caught fire. The fire was so huge that the fire fighters had to put in a lot of effort to extinguish it. According to the police, 15 to 20 people were working in the factory. Everyone was inside the factory at the time of the explosion. The rescue team has so far rescued 3 people from the factory. Of these, 2 people have died, while 1 is seriously injured. The injured have been sent to the local hospital for immediate treatment. Police have registered a case against the factory owner. Preliminary investigation revealed that safety standards were not being followed in the factory. Gunpowder was also being stored illegally in the factory. Compensation announced by the administration: The District Magistrate has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured. He said that the government will bear the entire cost of treatment of the injured.
