Dispur: The iconic Kaziranga National Park will re-open from October 21. The Park was shut since the COVID lockdown announced in March. The Park authorities have decided to partially reopen it with some changes in the popular rides. The tourist would not be able to enjoy elephant rides and safaris. However, they can enjoy jeep safaris which would be available at 50 per cent capacity. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal would be present at the re-opening ceremony on October 21. Informing about the reopening of the Park KNP said on its FB page, "Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve will be opened for the current tourist season on 21st October 2020. The opening ceremony will commence from 11am onwards. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam will grace the occasion." Let us tell you that a massive cleaning drive is underway. Not just the Park but people from resorts too are lending a hand in sprucing up the Park before it reopens next week. Park officials are hoping to welcome a large number of visitors. Park is thronged by huge number of tourists in large numbers for its famed one-horned rhinos.
