HYDERABAD: K. Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), alleged on Friday that the BJP had handed her a proposal for the "Shinde model" in Telangana, which she had rejected. A Telangana Legislative Council member named Kavitha told reporters that "friends" of the BJP had approached her with the offer. The "Shinde model" alludes to the Shiv Sena uprising in Maharashtra that was led by Eknath Shinde, who ultimately assumed the position of Chief Minister. "Friends of BJP and groups that are supportive of BJP have made requests to join the party to me. Shinde-model is the name of the proposal. When I said that Telangana residents did not betray their own parties or leaders, I meant it. We won't rise to the top by deception; rather, "said Kavitha. "We respectfully declined their proposal. After that, though, is another matter entirely. We live in public. We are constantly around people and will interact with them," she added. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Kavitha revealed this two days after KCR, as the Chief Minister is referred to, claimed that the BJP convinced her to change her allegiance. But BJP officials disagreed with KCR's assertion. Even if KCR wishes to join the BJP, the party will not accept him, said BJP state president Bandi Sanjay. BJP MP from Nizamabad D. Arvind tweeted, "We are not a party which engages in the liquor business and hence have no business with KCR's progeny." Regarding Arvind's assertion that Kavitha approached Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, about joining the party, she asserted that she had no interest in joining any other party. "Our party, TRS, has evolved into BRS. It will function at the federal level tomorrow," She said.
