Kerala BJP demands NIA investigation into Morcha leader's murder

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala BJP President K.Surendran vowed to stage an extended protest outside Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's home unless an NIA probe into the savage killing of BJP's OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan at his home in Alappuzha on December 19 is ordered.

'It seemed surprising that the probe had not got anywhere,' Surendran told the journalists in Alappuzha.

"Simply state that the Kerala Police are incapable of apprehending the perpetrators of the crime. It was unusual to hear the chief police official remark that the perpetrators of the crime had fled the state. The CCTV footage shows the culprits arriving in six two-wheelers within an hour of the incident and returning after committing the crime. Despite this, the Kerala Police have been unable to apprehend the perpetrators "Surendran stated.

"As a result, we are demanding an NIA investigation into this murder, and if Vijayan fails to do so, we will stage an indefinite protest in front of Vijayan's residence until that happens," Surendran said. SDPI and RSS/BJP supporters have accused each other of being behind the heinous murders.
