The Kerala High Court on Monday ordered the LDF government to issue orders barring its employees from participating in the two-day statewide strike. A bench of Chief Justice S Manikumar and Justice Shaji P Chaly delivered the interim order in response to a petition filed by Chandra Chooden Nair S. Advocate Sajith Kumar V, who represented the petitioner in the case, confirmed the order. He said, the court determined that the government employees' strike was illegal because it violated their service standards. In his petition, the petitioner claims that the state is incentivizing its employees to go on strike against the federal government by paying them money for days they don't work. The government employees were absent from work in support of a two-day nationwide strike called by a joint forum of key trade unions on March 28 and 29. The joint forum has called for a nationwide strike to protest government policies that impact workers, farmers, and the general public.
