History of Monkey Fever- Monkey fever in the Medical language is called Kisanoor Forest Disease (KFD) Let us tell you all that this fever was first identified in the year 1957 and the name of this disease came on the district of Kyasanur which is located in Karnataka. At the same time, this disease is called monkey fever in the common language because a lot of monkeys died due to this disease.

Symptoms of monkey fever- Talking about its initial symptoms, the person may see symptoms like high fever, cold, feeling pain in muscles, headache problem, etc. Let us tell you all that during monkey fever, the person gets a fever of up to 104°F and this fever can be seen in the person for about 2 weeks. Apart from this, there are some symptoms which are as follows:

1 – The person has diarrhoea. 2 – Having problems of nausea and vomiting. 3 – Low blood pressure problem. 4 – Having a problem of swelling in the eyes. 5 – Redness in the eyes. 6 – Low platelets. 7 – The problem of photophobia i.e. feeling pain in the eyes at a bright light.

At the same time, when the person is in a serious condition, there may be a problem of blood in the gums, the problem of nosebleeds, the problem of blood coming from the internal organs of the body.

Causes of monkey fever- it is a zoonotic disease. This means that there is a disease that spreads from animals to humans, this problem can occur when individuals come in direct contact with an infected living or dead animal. By the way, so far, there has been no case that monkey fever is spreading from humans to humans. If a person is bitten by an infected insect, there can still be a problem of monkey fever.

Prevention of Monkey Fever- In the year 1990, a vaccination drive for Monkey Fever was started. Yes, and it takes two doses in a month. Let me tell you that doses are given to children within 6 to 9 months. Even after this, for about 5 years, children need a booster dose every year.
