KANNUR: In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old man was injured in a crude bomb explosion at his house in a busy vicinity of Thalassery town, on Thursday afternoon. As per the information by the police, the bomb blast took place in a house in Natammal Colony near the MES School at nearly 2.30 pm. Jithin who was injured was immediately rushed to the hospital by the local people who rushed to place after hearing the blast. He was subsequently shifted to Government Medical College Hospital in Kannur. The report said, he has sustained injuries on his legs. He was alone at home when the incident took place. The room of the house was completely destroyed in the blast. City Police Commissioner Ajith Kumar,Thalassery CI M. Anil, SI C. Jayan Koothparamba ACP Pradeepan Kannipoyil, , and other officials rushed to the spot. The Forensic department officials and the dog squad from Kannur also inspected the house. Earlier, in September last year a bomb exploded in front of a RSS worker's house in Kannur's Chavassery. As per Mattannur Police, the bomb exploded about 50 meters away from the house of Sudheesh, an RSS worker. Police had registered the case under the explosive act. The forensic team had collected evidence from the spot. The dog squad also visited the spot.
