The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, has approved the conferment of Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards 2020 on 40 persons which includes Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak to one, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak to eight and Jeevan Raksha Padak to 31 persons. One award is posthumous. Kerala’s Muhammed Muhsin has been posthumously awarded the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, one of the three Jeevan Raksha Padak awards given to someone for saving the life of another person. Persons from all walks of life are eligible for these awards, given for meritorious acts of human nature in saving the life of a person, the statement said. Gujarat’s Ramshibhai Ratnabhai Samad, along with Maharashtra’s Parmeshwar Balaji Nagargoje, Punjab’s Amandeep Kaur, Telangana’s Koripelly Srujan Reddy, Uttar Pradesh’s Master Tinku Nishhad, Madhya Pradesh’s Himani Biswal, Andhra Pradesh Kalagarla Sahithi, and Uttar Pradesh’s Bhuwaneshwar Prajapati are the recipients of Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak. The medals and the certificates signed by the Union Home Minister and a lump sum allowance is presented to the awardees in due course by the Ministries, organizations, and the state governments to which they belong to.
