Kerry opens why she stored her breast milk in White House fridge

LOS ANGELES: Kerry Washington, the Hollywood actress, once kept her breast milk in the refrigerator at the White House.

The 45-year-old actress, who is married to Nnamdi Asomugha and shares an eight-year-old daughter named Isabelle and a five-year-old son named Caleb, was at the White House and the president's official office for a reception honouring Barack Obama's presidency in 2016.

I don't know what time I left, she remarked on "The Jennifer Hudson Show. I recall that I brought my pump with me because I was nursing at the time. And thank God I did because at two in the morning I was asking for help finding a small closet where I could go and pump. I wasn't prepared to leave that celebration! I then pumped it in the White House's closet before putting it in the refrigerator! According to femalefirst.co.uk, the former "American Idol" contestant, who was also present at the party, joked to Washington that her baby had received some "special milk" and explained why they had to stay up so late because it was the "last hurrah" before Donald Trump assumed the presidency of the United States.

The "Scandal" star said earlier this year that becoming a "girl mom" allowed her to view women's concerns differently and inspired her to "do better" for future generations of women.

Being a "female parent," she asserted, "does make you think about these topics in a new manner. Simply put, they inspire me to go above and above for them.
