Kolkata: Justice IP Mukherjee has agreed to hand over the investigation into the heinous crimes committed after the elections in Magarbi Bengal to the CBI and in his separate judgment said that the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Committee is not accused of being motivated by bias and discrimination. Calcutta High Court Judge Mukherjee said the committee constituted through NHRC had the power to conduct an inquiry and produce the facts collected under the order of a five-judge bench. Justice Mukherjee expressed his willingness to pass a bench verdict on PILs saying that the allegations against the committee have no merit as the court has not only considered the report of the committee but also looked into the arguments and arguments of the lawyers thereafter. The PIL urged an independent inquiry into the horrific violence that erupted after the elections and compensation to the oppressors. A bench of Acting Chief Justice of the High Court Rajesh Bindal, Justice IP Mukherjee, Justice Harish Tandon, Justice Soumen Sen, and Justice Subrata Talukdar has ordered the constitution of an SIT of three senior IPS officers to investigate CBI heinous crimes like rape, attempt to rape and murder and other cases of alleged violence after elections in West Bengal.
