Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao inaugurated 1,152 2 BHK flats at Jiaguda, Ghoda-ki-Khabar and Kattela Mandi on Monday. The houses, built at a cost of Rs 95.58 crore as part of the Telangana state government's prestigious dignity housing programme, were handed over to 840 beneficiaries in Jiaguda, 192 Ghode-ki-Khabar and 120 kattelu mandi. The Telangana government has launched a highly ambitious scheme for the construction of double bedroom houses for the poor. The TRS party promised to build double bedroom houses with all the facilities for the homeless poor during the 2014 elections. Houses are incomplete in many places except for some. The state government has decided to distribute houses in the completed areas. Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao asked people not to trust the middlemen to get the house and said that the beneficiaries would be transparently identified by the authorities concerned. The government has spent Rs.9 lakh sold for every house worth Rs.40 lakhs. Anganwadi, Basti Basti Basti, Library, etc. facilities are provided in dignity housing colony.
